Bergey's Custom Service provides
automotive repairs and state inspections for motor vehicles. Bergey's
is an automobile business made with three bays. The amount of
profit for such an automotive business depends on the quantity
and quality of repairs. This business has two full-time employees
and one part-time employee. Mr. Bergey is the owner and a full-time
mechanic. Walter Hunsberger is a full-time mechanic and Mrs. Bergey
is a part-time employee who does the company's financial books.
Bergey's employees usually
work from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Employees usually work on about
six cars a day, but it actually depends how difficult the car
is to repair. In this business the employee gets paid in relation
to their ability and experience - ranging from 6 to 15 dollars
per hour, plus benefits for full-time employees. In this business
employees also need to be at least 16 years of age with a valid
driver's license. Mechanics need to have automotive experience
from a technical school and should have an Inspection Mechanics
Certificate.
The easier cars to work on
are old cars because they need fewer computerized parts. Most
of the cars worked on at Bergey's Custom Service are from the
1990's to the present because most of the mid-1980's cars are
no longer in use. In addition, they often work on antique automobiles
at Bergey's Custom Service.
