| Mr. John Schwartz managed
another store before becoming the owner of Mt. Perk cyclery.
A college education is not required for a bike store owner. Mr.
Schwartz is self taught in the bike business. He has many responsibilities
and the pay for his job starts low then gradually goes up based
upon the increased sales of the business. A positive aspect his
job is that he gets to enjoy his hobby as a job. A negative aspect
about his job is that while he is working he sees other people
riding when he has to work. |

A typical day as a bike store owner might include ordering
equipment and supplies, repairing equipment for customers, and
selling merchandise from the store. He keeps up with his field
in a variety of ways. As a biker he constantly is aware of what
people who are bike enthusiasts or racers want and need. He also
finds a lot of information in biking magazines and on the internet.
