Mr. Dave Schmidt is the principal owner of his business. He has been an independent graphic designer for roughly fourteen years. For over 25 years prior to that he worked in the graphic design business, with most of those years in pharmaceutics design. Mr. Schmidt spent four years at the Philadelphia College of Art in their advertising design program.

His normal working hours are from 9:00 a.m.to 5:00 or 6:00 p.m. during the week. The pay range for a graphic designer can be from $20,000-$50,000 a year or more. The reason he enjoys his job so much is because there is constant variety in his work. Each day he works on new things so there is no way for him to get bored. He feels most of his customers are pleasant to deal with, but he has dealt with some difficult folks. He doesn't hire employees, but sometimes he uses outside people or "contracts out" for specific talents on certain jobs. In his job he uses basic office equipment such as computers, fax machines, copy machines, printers, and e-mail. Based on his skills, Mr. Schmidt choose this career because his eleventh grade principal at Abington Sr. High recognized his talent and recommended he pursue an artistic career.
