Hunsberger's and Leidytown Schools

HUNSBERGER'S SCHOOL

Hunsberger's school is built of stone, and is plastered over. This school is the third oldest school in the township, so it is said. The school is located three miles east of Blooming Glen. The last teacher recorded there was Miss Mary. The enrollment was thirty six, and the school went up to eighth grade. It was built in 1924.

LEIDYTOWN SCHOOL

This school was originally a church, but became a primary school. The township bought it and turned the Sunday School room into a school. The teacher was Miss Grasse, and the enrollment was fifty. The school only went up to second grade. Today, this old school building is again part of a church, Good Shepherd Episcopal Church.
