This bridges serves as a link between Newark, New Jersey and Harrisburg, PA by way of Interstate 78.   Each bridge roadway is 48 feet wide with three 12 foot lanes and 4 and 8 foot shoulders.  
   
Pennsylvania approach as seen from below (Route 611).   "Y" shaped reinforced concrete piers support both of the two structures.
   
Each superstructure consists of four welded steel plate girders with a ten inch reinforced concrete deck.    Riveted steel structural members are riveted together.
