Location: Constitution Avenue (near Walnut Street) - Perkasie, PA
Stream: Pleasant Spring Creek
Year: Built 1915; Rebuilt in 1999
This relatively new bridge was designed to look like the older stone bridge it replaced. The bridge is made of metal and reinforced concrete. | The bridge project also widened the roadway so that two vehicles could easily pass over the bridge.
A simulated stone surface is created out of colored cement. | Wing walls provide support for the bridge and control the path of the water.
Metal beams are riveted together under the roadbed. | The long beams are bolted into the side cement supports on each end of the bridge. |
