Upper Black Eddy - Milford Bridge

Steel in superstructure includes 852 tons in the main bridge, 148 tons in the roadway floor, and 20 tons in the sidewalk.   The abutments and piers were recapped with reinforced concrete in 1933 .
     
Abutments are rubble faced masonry, built in 1842 .    The sidewalk is cantilevered outside the main truss structure. The sidewalk is 2" concrete filled steel tees.
     
Base of truss structures.   The bridge has a concrete filled steel roadway. The roadway is 3 1/2" steel "T-Tri-Lock" concrete filled grid.
     
Truss members have riveted laced sides.   The truss structure uses triangular structural elements.
