DIFFERENT GRAVESTONES

In the cemetery, there are gravestones that are so old you can barely read them. This gravestone is made of field stone which was found locally. Early settlers could not get marble for their loved ones' grave markers.

This gravestone, made out of marble,is an example of a veteran's grave. There is a medal medallion next to the gravestone that tells what war he served in.   This is a woman's marble gravestone who was identified by her connection to her husband. She was 88 years old. Some gravestones give the exact life span of the person.

This view of the graveyard shows a granite monument (lower right), very old field stone graves (dark markers in center), and many marble stones in the distance.
