BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS

Citizens appointed by the council help to administer the Borough of Perkasie. Boards and commissions include the Zoning Hearing Board, Planning Commission, Parks and Recreation Board, Perkasie Borough Authority Board and Perkasie Industrial Development Authority.

ZONING HEARING BOARD

The Code Enforcement department administers the building and property maintenance codes. Zoning is enforced by the borough manager. The zoning officer works with the Perkasie Planning Commission and Zoning Hearing Board regarding building, renovation, and changing the use of a property or dwelling.There are five members on this board.

PLANNING COMMISSION

Plans for subdivisions and land developments are reviewed by the Perkasie Planning Commission. they make recommendations to Perkasie Borough Council about the approval or disapproval of those plans.

The Perkasie Planning Commission assists in the development of overall plans and changes to zoning, subdivision, and land development ordinances. There are seven members on this board.

PARKS & RECREATION BOARD

The Parks and Recreation Board oversees the park system and activities offered throughout the Borough of Perkasie. Menlo, Park, Lenape Park, Kulp Playground, bike path system, and the East Spruce Street tot lot are part of this system. A pamphlet is published for Perkasie residents explaining the seasonal programs on an annual basis. There are nine members on this board.

PERKASIE BOROUGH AUTHORITY BOARD

The Perkasie Borough Authority supplies drinking water to the residents of Perkasie, East Rockhill Township, and Hilltown.The Perkasie Borough Authority Board is appointed to oversee the operations and policies of the Perkasie Borough Authority. Members must live in the service area. There are five members on this board.

PERKASIE INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY

An authority may be created by a borough and members appointed. An authority is not part of the municipal government - it is a public corporation.

The Perkasie Industrial Development Authority plans and assists with bringing businesses to Perkasie Borough. There are major efforts underway to bring new business to the Olde Towne section of Perkasie. The former Stainless property is a current project to be re-developed on Ninth Street in Perkasie. There are five members on the Perkasie Industrial Development Authority.
