Come See the Drill in Action
at The H&K Quarry!
Zzzzt! Zzzzt! This is the drill that drills the holes the chemicals
are put in for the blast. It drills about 50 feet into the rock
of the quarry. That is how the blast gets started. The drill is
attached to a truck, as you can see in the picture.
The drill is also a simple machine as well as a compound machine.
It is mainly a screw. If you go to the H&K Quarry in Hilltown
you can see the blast of your life.
