ASPHALT PAVING

1. A dump truck empties the load of stone on the road bed.    2. A bulldozer levels out the stones.

3. Large quantities of stone can be moved by the bulldozer.   4. After the stone is leveled to the correct height in relation to the curb, hot asphalt is dumped from a truck from the asphalt plant.

5. A paving machine begins to move over the top of the stone base.     6. This machine deposits the hot asphalt in a flat layer over the stones.

 7. A steam roller then presses the asphalt to create a smoother surface. When the asphalt surface cools it will be ready for use.
