BANKS - MODERN

First Savings Bank

The First Savings Bank building is located at 600 Market Street in Perkasie was built in 1956. This building and the others on the same block do not seem to fit with the architectural styles in this older section of the town. The block on which this building is located (along with Shelly & Sons) was part of a re-development project in town. Numerous Victorian Period buildings were torn down and replaced by the structures seen on this block today.

The overhang roof design in front of the main entrance allows light to enter and provides some protection from the weather.

 Union National Bank

The Union National Bank is located at 545 Constitution Avenue in Perkasie, PA.

The basic architecture style of this bank is post modern. It shows natural materials that were used. One example of this is the colors that are used, they are earth tones.    The service area of the bank has a roof which is supported by columns and a cantilever roof.

This circular window on the Union National Bank. It is the focal point of the building on the Perkasie side.   The building has a unique design. The stripes on the wall surface are concrete block and brick. These are two different textures which adds variety to the building.
