Today many families have two working parents; children often are responsible for assisting with household chores to assist their parents. Today most teens and kids have to do some type of household chores. Some children are compensated for their work through an allowance, while others are expected to do the work as part of their responsibility of being part of a household. For example, a teenager might have to take out the trash, do the dishes and clean around he house. Someone else might have to make their bed, clean the bathroom, and feed the cat or dog. Other chores include doing homework, doing the laundry, and watching younger siblings.. Chores today tend to be more co-ed in nature than they were prior to the 1970's, but some chores still are categorized along gender lines. |
