As the town of Perkasie grew so did its manufacturing base. The town had many factories that received materials from the railroad line and the surrounding farming community. Clothing, cigars, baseballs, microscope slides, bricks, Belgian blocks, toys, ice cream, macaroni and other food items have all been produced in Perkasie factories in the past.
