Trolley Line Locations in Perkasie
Trolleys can no longer be found in the Perkasie area. This once popular form of transportation disappeared from the Upper Bucks County area. Trolleys were used by all different kinds of people. Adults would use trolleys to get to and from work. Kids would use them to get to the candy store. These trolleys were non-stop, and kept on schedule.

View of 9th Street (both old and new trolley lines) Due to problems with derailment of the trolley cars on the line the route of the trolley was changed to remove two 90 degree turns. A tunnel was built under the railroad bridge and a new bridge was added on 9th Street (seen above). The 2nd line ran to the RIdge Road beginning on 9th Street next to the present day mausoleum. |

These trolleys traveled to any place that could be found in between Allentown and Philadelphia. If you took a trip, it would take approximately 65 minutes to reach the city.
In 1951 the trolley lines stopped running, but evidence still remains of when they once traveled the tracks of Perkasie. There have been discussions of creating a bike path along the entire Liberty Bell Route. One local consideration for completing such a route is to again place a structure over 9th Street where there are only the bridge abutments remain today.
