Of the major types of fruit produced in Pennsylvania, Southeastern Pennsylvania produces a large quantity of these products. Quantities of these materials grown in Southeastern Pennsylvania during 1997 are listed below. State agricultural statistics organize counties in Southeastern Pennsylvania into an area called Region 2. A blank space in the chart below does not indicate that there is no production of a crop, but an area too small to be recorded by state statistics for the county. Other fruit may be sold by local farmers at their farm stands and local supermarkets. Some fruit is processed into wine at local vineyards.
