MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS ON PERKASIE HOME

During the spring and summer of 2000 this home at 311 Market Street had a facelift. Significant effort was made to remove the paint, sand the surfaces of the wood, and repaint the building with a new color scheme.

This single Victorian home has a front porch with original details in place.    The porch features a gable at the front entrance, valance with cut patterns, fish scale siding and simple porch post brackets.

Decorative bargeboards (front of gable) and brackets accent the roof in a contrasting color.    The hand cut fish scale shingles (top) repeat the colors on the valance.

A dormer gets a good scraping before it is sanded and ready for paint.   Decorative vergeboard with center pendant.
