CIRCUITS IN PERKASIE
Meet Mr. Phil Ivans, the electric superintendent for Perkasie Borough. The Borough of Perkasie buys power from Pennsylvania Power and Light (PP&L) and sells it to all of the residents in the Borough of Perkasie. The information below was provided by Mr. Ivans about circuits at the municipal level.

The Borough of Perkasie has three main circuits in town, which divide the town into thirds. The Park Avenue circuit comes out of the East Rockhill substation and down Park Avenue to feed into South Perkasie. This circuit takes care of South Jr. High, Landis Supermarket, and that section of town. The Market Street circuit, which is the center of Olde Towne, feeds all the businesses in that area. The Callowhill circuit includes Callowhill Street, Guth Elementary School, and South Perkasie near Callowhill Street.

Circuits divide the load into three different areas. The three sections enable Perkasie to balance that loadto switch the load in case one of the circuits become overloaded. They try to balance our load equally by using circuits.

Other Regional Electrical Circuits

Municipal electrical service is provided in Perkasie because the electricity is bought in bulk from Pennsylvania Power and Light (PPL). In Southeastern Pennsylvania, electricity is provided by PP&L and Philadelphia Energy Company (PECO) and GPU Advanced Resources.
