   Lenape Park - The Present

Today Lenape Park is as beautiful as ever!

In Lenape Park you can have a fun filled day. There are several things to do to enjoy yourself on a bright and sunny day. A newly acquired field across from Perkasie Square Shopping Center will become part of the park system; during 2000 plans being considered include a sand volleyball courts, additional parking, or a skating & rollerblading facility. Activities at Lenape Park include: exercise and biking trails, picnicking under the pavilion, baseball, and water recreation activities. Residents have easy access to food at the Perkasie Square Shopping Center and the local dairy bar when enjoying themselves at the park.

Changes which are being considered are to widen the bike path and to connect the bike path to other trails from other communities (such as the proposed Liberty Trail route from Norristown to Quakertown). A major reason for connecting community bike trails is that it is a lot safer. It is also hoped that the town will get rid of the 55 gallon drums used as trash receptacles that keep ending up in the creek.

The ice skating rink is a flooded field next to the East branch of the Perkiomen Creek.    The birds take over the ice rink in warmer seasons.

ANNUAL EVENTS
