THE FIRST SETTLERS
The first landowners in the Rockhill Township were English- speaking people. However, the first actual settlers were German-speaking. They were also known as the Pennsylvania Dutch (misnomer of Duetsch, the German word for German). These farmers knew how to take care of the soil because it was just like the soil in Germany. Each year they planted different crops to keep the soil rich. Below are some of the settlers who first came to places in Pennsylvania like West Rockhill.
